Makeup company Urban Decay is facing an Internet crap storm after a tweetabout the brand’s Razor Sharp eyeliner that has since been deleted.
In case you can’t see the connection, the image of the woman’s wrist along with the fact that “Razor” is the name of the product is evocative of self-harm.
That’s something Twitter was quick to point out.
The placement was a problem for most people.
Others conceded that the wrist is typically where people do makeup swatches, but the language used added a different dimension.
Along with taking down the tweet, the company offered a rather tone deaf apology.
It’s safe to say that while their new product might be called “Razor Sharp,” the thinking behind this was definitely not.
