Daniel’s viral video made him an Internet sensation overnight, but just wait ’til you see what he’s doing with his new collection of white vans!
Daniel Lara and Joshua Holz became Internet sensations overnight when Holz posted a viral video clip featuring his friend’s killer style, namely his Vans.
“Back at it again with the white vans,” became a trademark phrase in a matter of days, and the boys rose to instant stardom.
They were getting phone calls from media outlets everywhere. The teen duo was soon invited on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Daniel was even gifted with a lifetime supply of Vans by the footwear company that was certainly pleased with all the extra publicity for their brand.
While he could’ve easily taken the shoes for himself and added to his oh-so-fly footwear collection, Daniel instead decided to use the gift to help others.
Last week, Daniel and Joshua went to the LomaUniversity Children’s hospital in Southern California and handed out one hundred pairs of Vans to patients. The Vans footwear company also decided to throw in stickers, socks, hats, and goody bags for the patients.
“I am so happy. This is the best day of my life,” said 13-year-old patient Johnathan Robinson-Joye. “I can’t wait to tell my family that I met Daniel!”
“We thought it was important to do some charity work and give back to the local community,” Lara told the LA Daily News. “We’re enjoying it. We’re enjoying being here. This is a great experience.”
