The winteris the perfect time to laze around and watch TV, and luckily for all of us who have pretty much exhausted what Netflix has to offer, they’re adding a whole bunch of new films and TV shows to keep us entertained throughout December.

Here’s our pick of the best:

How I Met Your Mother – Seasons 1-8

If you missed this sitcom, you’ll be able to binge watch it from the 3rd December.

Lost River

Ryan Gosling’s attempt at directing a film didn’t get great reviews, but starring Eva Mendes and Saoirse Ronan, we’re willing to give it a go.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2

The sequel to Hot Tub Time Machine, this mindless comedywill make for perfect Boxing Day viewing.

Walk of Shame

This film sees Elizabeth Banks stranded without her purse or her phone after a one night stand. She’s miles away from home, and she has eight hours to get to the interview for her dream job..

The Vampire Diaries: Season 6

More moody vampires in love.

What Happens in Vegas

Classic rom-com What Happens in Vegas is actually pretty funny. Watch it.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire

This won’t make for a cheery viewing experience, but if you’re looking for something high-brow, this is an excellent film.

A Very Murray Christmas

Bill Murray’s Christmas special (coming to Netflix in both the UK and the US) will feature George Clooney, Miley Cryus and Michael Cera. It’s sure to be bizarre..

Still Alice

Julianne Moore won an Oscar for her portrayal of a woman suffering from early-onset Alzheimers in this film. If you missed it in cinemas, you can find out why here.

Men in Black 3

Taking us back to 1969, the third Men in Black film saw Will Smith try to stop an alien from assassinating Agent K.

This film stars Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone, and it’s set in Hawaii. What more do you need to know?

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones

Any fans of horror will be pleased to know that 2014’s Paranormal Activity film will hit Netflix on the 12th December.

One Direction: This Is Us

One Direction fans can now watch This is Us every day if they want to…. Just imagine.

Before he directed Adele in the Hello video, Xavier Dolan made this creepy thriller. It’s subtitled, so don’t watch while drunk, but it’s definitely worth checking out.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Chris Pine stars as Jack Ryan in this upbeat action film.

She’s Funny That Way

She’s Funny that Way is a classic screwball, love-triangle kind of film.

Dear White People

Probably the least known film on the list, Dear White People is a hilarious, but vital look at race in American universities. Watch it.

Here’s what’s coming to the US:

Broadchurch: Season 2

Second series of English police drama Broadchurch is going stateside on the 1st December.

Jennys Wedding

Starring Alexis Bledel and Katherine Heigl as a lesbian couple, this film sees the difficulties same-sex couples can face when their families refuse to accept them.
